ARC Institution is led by Mike Van Zandt via his strong network across Asia Pacific and Japan. He has 20 years’ experience in the global medical device industry with a specific focus on interventional vascular therapies. He began his career as a cardiology sales rep for CR Bard (BCR) in Tokyo. Via acquisitions by AVE (AVEI) and Medtronic (MDT), he spent much of his tenure at Medtronic in global and domestic roles, then became President of USCI Japan, Medtronic’s largest distributor globally. While at USCI, he backwards integrated the organization into R&D and manufacturing via the establishment of USCI Ireland, an OEM peripheral vascular supplier to Medtronic, now renamed Creagh Medical. Prior to establishing ARC Institution in Japan, Mike was Vice President & General Manager of Boston Scientific's (BSX) Interventional Cardiology business in Japan. Subsequently, he took on the role of VP - Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, Interventional Cardiology Marketing. Mike studied one year at Sophia University in Tokyo, holds a BA in Economics and Asian Studies from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO, and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia University in New York.
